Playlist Monday

Playlist Monday

Hello out there in internet land. It's Monday, July 19th, 2021. Monday...

This week there's going to be Playlist posts today, Wednesday and Friday to make up for the lack of posts the last couple weeks. Get things back on track a little bit.

Wednesday's songs will not be on Spotify because the album isn't on Spotify. I came across an album (it's technically an EP) last week that I didn't know existed. I think it deserves it's own post. "What EP is it?" That's why you have to check out Wednesday's post! I'll give a clue. It was released in 2008. And I couldn't believe I just found out about it last week. The only reason I found out about it was because I kind of fell into a rabbit hole of looking up cassettes. I was looking up "cassette collections" and cassette websites. I was a little bored. And I happened to see this particular EP on a cassette website and I had to check if it was real. So be on the lookout for this post on Wednesday.

Today first.

Nice collection of songs. I've been listening to The MarĂas recent album CINEMA the last week or so. It's really good. I included "Spin Me Around" on today's playlist. It's my favorite song currently off the album. Simple, smooth, silky, catchy. And I'm definitely not describing myself.

I also included St. Vincent's Metallica cover she did recently. I find it decent. She adds a industrial vibe to it. A St. Vincent industrial album would be pretty cool. She's done a few covers in the past that I've really enjoyed. I think my favorite was her live cover of Nirvana's "Lithium". Eff it let me grab it.

Other bands in today's playlist include Honeywhip, White Flowers and Moontype. Honeywhip's "Georgia Peach" is a catchy, little tune. It sounds like a track a lot of "modern country/pop" singers would do. I could definitely see like a Keith Urban doing this track. "Keith Urban?!". Yea I just dropped Keith Urban's name on the blog. I don't usually listen to him, but when I do it's his song "Drop Top". Eff it. Let me grab it as well. It's actually a really fun pop rock song. Now that I'm re-listening to it I'm getting a lil amped up.

Anyways. I should wrap today's post up. Again this is post 1 of 3 this week.

I appreciate you reading. Have a good rest of your day.
