Hello out there in internet land. It's Friday, May 21st, 2021. Hope your week has gone well.
I try to get these posts up first thing in the morning or in the late hours of Thursday, but real life & work stuff was a little pesky today. It's still Friday though. So let's roll roll roll!
Japanese Breakfast returns to the playlist. Michelle Zauner has been a busy person as of late. She recently released a memoir "Crying In H Mart", her band has a new record coming out next month called Jubilee and tour dates have also been announced in conjunction with said album (no Houston unfortunately. maybe you'll be more in luck depending on where you're reading this from). "Savage Good Boy" is one of three singles that have been released thus far from the new album. Off the first few listens I like the song. It doesn't blow me away blow me away, but maybe w a few more listens it will. She really set a high precedent with her 2017 record Soft Sounds from Another Planet. That is a great album.
The Undercover Dream Lovers kick off the playlist. They're a group from Los Angeles. All the songs I've checked out from them this week were easily accessible pop/psych rock bops.
Neko, First Beige and Laura Marling round off the list this week. Neko with the slow, nostalgia vibes. First Beige with the late night cafe vibe bop and Laura Marling w the techno-y vibe song in "Animal". Laura Marling's song reminds me slightly of School of Seven Bells (rip Benjamin Curtis).
Check out the playlist if you so wish. I appreciate you reading. Hope you have a good weekend.
