Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Howday! It's Friday, March 27th, 2020. This is the first post in about a month and a half. Absolutely nothing has happened in the world since then. Zilch! It's crazy how literally no news has happened since the last time I posted on Valentine's Day. In all seriousness.... WHAT THE BLEEP.

A lot of the world is on lock down. A lot of states and cities in the USA ordering people to stay home. If you're reading this - I hope you're doing alright and are staying safe.

I didn't plan to take this break from the blog. I wanted to post today to finally get out of the rut. I knew if I let more and more time pass... it would just keep piling up and I'm usually a streaky person. I knew if I didn't post today... there was a chance this could keep spiraling out of non-existent blog control.

I also don't like paying for a blog I don't at least update a little bit. Especially in uncertain times like this. Every dollar counts. That is fo shooo.

So Playlist Friday is back for sure.

The return of the post sees the playlist dedicated to one artist. Nil├╝fer Yanya. I included her on a previous Playlist Friday a few months ago. I DID NOT DO HER JUSTICE. The song of hers I included was just an interlude. There's a few interludes on her recent debut album Miss Universe. They should never be on a Playlist Friday. They make no sense on a playlist, but within the album yes. So... I messed up.

I started really giving the album more attention a month or so ago. It's been my quarantine soundtrack as well the last couple weeks. I try to separate recency bias from clouding my thoughts and feelings, but I really think this album is one of the best albums I've personally listened to in the last 3-4 years. I'm highlighting 5 of the songs I really like from the album, but this whole record is worth a listen.

(Depending on when you come across this post - a YouTube link may not be working)

Stay safe! Thanks for reading.
