Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Last Friday of the month. Fridays mean another Playlist Friday on the blog! Five songs I've been listening to during said week and posting about them on Friday. Songs that have made my work week or spare time go a little smoother. What are you listening to? Feel free to comment or IG me @ flimsypizza.

Content will pick back up in July. Real life has been a pest the past couple weeks. A couple new weekly posts may make it's way to the blog next month. I've been brainstorming certain ideas. Next month is next month, though. Today is Friday! Let's get this edition of Playlist Friday underway.

(Depending on when you come across this post - a YouTube link may not be working)

Gauntlet Hair - Simple

Some bands just have a "sound". Gauntlet Hair was one of those bands. The band stopped making music shortly after this record in 2013. I've played them steadily over the years. I'm putting this song first because the guys are back with a brand new project called Cindygod. I'm stoked. They just played their first show, under the new band name, last week in their hometown of Denver. I haven't been able to find any footage from the show. It'll be interesting to hear how it sounds compared to their music in GH.

Lady Lamb - Crane Your Neck

Lady Lamb is the stage name of Aly Spaltro. "Crane Your Neck" is off her debut 2013 album Ripely Pine. Great track. Beautiful lyrics. Aly goes all out on her music (and this song especially).

Deerhunter - Ad Astra

I don't go many weeks without listening to Deerhunter. "Ad Astra" is one of my favorite tracks off Fading Frontier (2015). Beautiful track. Lockett Pundt strikes gold again.

Marilyn Manson - Disassociative

I fell into a YouTube rabbit hole the other night. Somehow I fell across a Manson interview from late last year. I've always respected his interviews. I don't agree with everything he says, but he's always articulate in his opinions. It made me revisit my favorite album of his afterwards. Manson's music aside...  Mechanical Animals (1998) is probably in my top 10 albums, period. It's a great record.

Good Morning - Time To Try Again

Good Morning is a band out of Melbourne. "Time To Try Again" is a track off their debut 2014 album ShawCross. A short, but very sweet track. I've had it on repeat this week. I hope you're doing well wherever and whenever you come across this post! This post will most likely round out the month. The first full month of the blog. Thank you for reading. It's appreciated.
