The 31st day of May is here. This is Playlist Friday. I'm Jake. Hello. I hope your week has gone spectacular. If not... there's always tomorrow. There's always next week. The sun will rise again. You're awesome. Always remember that. Thanks for checking out the blog.
It's been a busy time as of late. JakeRambles.com has been more like PlaylistFriday.com the last month or so. What is PlaylistFriday.com... let me search that url really quick... one sec... Ah it looks like someone bought it and just has the url parked. Anyways, where... was... I... yes busy times.
I'm going to work on having other content up besides PFs in the near future. I was close yesterday to posting about the foul ball that struck the young girl at an Astros game this week. It's renewing the debate around the league about extending the nets further around the seating sections around third and first bases. I've heard some in the media that they should have netting from foul pole to foul pole.
I wouldn't have a problem with that. For me personally... I don't usually sit in those specific areas for that very reason. I don't want to be struck with a ball that's zooming at me at like 80-95mph speeds. You have very little time to react in those areas off third and first bases. I don't want to sit there... much less bring my kids (if I had any) and have them sit with me in those areas.
I usually always get 200-300 level seats around first or behind home plate. You get a nice view of everything. Plus you're elevated. You still get foul balls, but not at the speed (usually) of sitting lower tier. Speaking of foul balls... I actually caught my first one last week at an Astros game.
I was in the 200 level off first base (224 to be exact). I was with some of my family. The 200 level had seen several foul balls already up to this point (this was in the 5th inning now). A White Sox player hit a foul ball and I saw it (and had the split second thought of "wait... that's kind of coming in my section's direction...) and before I knew it the ball smacked the top part of my seat and then I grabbed it. It was a thud though. Even in the 200 level. I can't imagine what it's like in the 100 level. Luckily the reports are the girl who got hit is okay. Can't imagine being the Dad when it all happened. Scary stuff.
I posted the foul ball on my Insta lmao. It's just a foul ball, but I never expect to actually catch one. I've been to a lot of games and haven't really come close to catching one. This one last week was a literal line drive right at my seat. It's ironic because before the game I was talking with my parents about how "foul balls never come my way". And sure enough a couple hrs later I get a line drive right at my seat.
Anyways. Playlist Friday. Five of the many songs I've been listening to in a said week and posting them on the blog. I like this week's list. If you have any suggestions for songs... you can comment or dm me on Insta. I'll check them out. Thanks again for checking out the blog.
