Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Howdaaay. It's Friday, April 22nd, 2022. Hope your week has gone well.

Playlist Friday. The longest, most consistent music playlist blog post on Fridays hailing from the Houston area that's written by a blue eyed male named Jake w a V middle name.

social security number is 651-25... jk

This week's playlist is a true hodgepodge. There's a little melodic hardcore, a little folk, a little emo/post hardcore-ish, indie & electronic. So a decently wide range of genres this week.

The folk-ish song is Jess Williamson. If you couldn't already probably tell w this week's bands & artist's names. She was born in Austin, but now lives in Los Angeles. I'm not usually a gigantic folk fan, but this song really grabbed me via the first listen. The milky twang, her voice, the vibes. *Chef's kiss*

Jamie xx caps the playlist off w his recent single "LET'S DO IT AGAIN". I was watching some of the live Youtube Coachella streams this past weekend and Jamie xx happened to be performing on one of them.

It made me venture back down his discog again. I'm not a giant fan of everything he's put out, but to this day I think his 2015 song "Gosh" ranks up there w my favorite DJ/electronic songs.

The progression throughout that song is amazing. It's a full range experience of a track.

I don't think "LET'S DO IT AGAIN" comes close to "Gosh" personally, but it's a nice groovy track. It's Friday. There's a radio edit version of the song that's a few mins shorter. I decided to go long version.

Endless Heights, Stars Hollow & Slow Caves fill out the rest of the list.

I appreciate you reading. Hope your weekend is a good one.
