Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Hello! It's Friday, March 18, 2022. Hope your week is going well.

A Spring Break week for a lot of kids around the Houston area. A lot of parents, kids, teachers enjoying a little time off I'm sure. Weather has been pretty dang nice in Houston outside of yesterday.

First on this week's list is Tomato Flower. They hail from Baltimore. "Red Machine" is a catchy little track. Reminds me a bit of Tame Impala. I would describe the track as silky & smooth.

Alyssa Gengos rounds out the list w/ "Gothenburg English". Song kind of has 3-4 levels. I was trying to think of who the song reminded me of. Then I was like "Cults?". The last minute or so is definitely Cult-ish. A blast from the 2010's. I just checked to see if the duo was still making music. They put out a song called "Valentine" on Valentine's Day but it looks to be a B-Side that was recorded in 2011 that didn't make their self titled debut album. They had some catchy tracks.

Horsegirl, Vern Matz & Gracie Gray fill out the list.

Horsegirl is a band from Chicago. They all just graduated high school in the last year. I listened to a few of their tracks this week. For being so young I was pretty dang impressed.

That'll just about put a bow on this week's installment of Playlist Friday.

I appreciate you reading. Hope you have a good weekend.
