Howdaaay! Another Friday is officially upon us. It's Friday, January 14, 2022.
Hope your week has gone well.
I'm a lil tired this morning, but we march on. I have my iced coffee as always by my side.
A couple songs on this playlist is like transporting back in time. Whether it's 90s R&B vibes or a little Smokey Robinson type nostalgia. I was digging through the deep crevices of Spotify like I usually do and I came across this Brainstory - "Mnemophobia" track. After listening to it I was like "this probably came out in the 70s or 80s". I only ended up being 40-50 years off. It was released in 2019!
The fact that 1980 is 42 years ago already makes me kinda sad.
But that's beside the point. I'm trying to feel positive this morning.
Same goes for the opening track on the playlist. 90s R&B vibes to the max. But was released 4 years ago. Stimulator Jones is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ, vocalist and songwriter born in Roanoke, VA. "Soon Never Comes" is off his Exotic Worlds and Masterful Treasures album. I listened to a few other songs. Some good tracks on it, but I enjoyed "Soon Never Comes" the most. I like it a lot.
Rounding out the playlist is SPC ECO, Klein & Funny Death.
SPC ECO - "Out of Sight" kind of reminds me of a blend of bands. School of Seven Bells' track "Show Me Love" came to mind first. Loosely I guess. "Show Me Love" is easily my favorite SoSB track. I do miss SoSB. It's hard to believe this will be year 9 since Benjamin Curtis (guitarist for SoSB) passed.
Also RIP to Bob Saget. A lot of people my age (30s) grew up w Full House. That was easily one of my favorite show growing up. Full House, reruns of the Wonder Years on Nick at Night & Mr. Bean. I remember Mr. Bean used to come on at like 10pm on Saturdays on PBS. I would get hyped as a kid.
Saget's cause of death is undetermined, but the reports are there was no drugs or alcohol at play. He posted on IG literally a couple hrs before his death saying he was looking forward to what 2022 has in store. Life is something. We truly never know when our time is up.
I didn't mean to end this post on a sorrowful note :,o. But it's a good reminder to always tell the people who matter the most in your life that you love them.
I appreciate you reading. Hope you have a good weekend.
