Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Hello out there in internet land. It's Friday, August 27th, 2021. Super early here on this Friday. At least in Houston, Texas, but it's all good. This is two weeks in a row I've gotten up a little early just to post a Playlist Friday. That's the plan going forward each Friday. That'sssss the plaaannnnn.

Random thoughts/tidbits:

1) I ran out of iced coffee yesterday so I'm literally drinking chocolate milk right now. It's not the same. It's better than nothing, but I'm lacking a little bit rn. Nah in all seriousness I'm tweaking. I'm jk. That's in all the insta comments I've been seeing the last couple days. I'm not sure where it came from.

I like hot coffee some, but I rather have something cold if given the choice. It's funny. The last two baseball games I've been at. One in Houston a couple weeks ago and the last game I went to in Seattle a month ago the people in front of me ordered hot coffee. The game in Seattle was an afternoon day game. The roof was open and it was 85 degrees. And the game in Houston... the roof was obviously closed, but still... Houston summers. People like what they like though. That's part of the beauty of life.

2) Sometimes I find songs for the playlist for a particular week's playlist on a plane, sometimes I'll listen to random songs while I'm working and be like "ah this sounds pretty good who is this?". I discovered this week's songs while drinking a margarita last night. I put on my headphones and fell in a decent Spotify rabbit hole. That was a lot of my Thursday evening. All 5 selections are new discoveries for me so I'll definitely have to dig more into each. It's a rock heavy playlist.

The first song is "kit" by julie. I put a live version on the post. This version reminds me a little of Cloakroom. Mainly due to the echo-ish, spaced out sounding nature. The album version is more compact. The song kicks ass though. The band hails from Los Angeles.

The rest of the playlist feature songs from Computerwife, Tennis System, They Are Gutting a Body of Water & Pity Party (Girls Club). Tennis System reminds me a little of Nothing (at least in this song "Crushing"). And the bass in the Pity Party song "I hope that u think of me" is very sexy. It's the lightest song in the playlist. I felt it was a nice way to close things for the week.

So yes. I think that'll just about put a bow on this week's edition of Playlist Friday. Weather was looking a little iffy for the Space city for the beginning of next week w this tropical storm Ida looming out in the tropics, but it looks like it's going completely to Louisiana now as a decent sized hurricane. Which is good for Texas. But poor Louisiana has gotten hit hard the last couple years. I saw someone online say "God hates Louisiana". And maybe he does. I don't know. Maybe he got bad gumbo one time.

In all srsness good vibes to Louisiana.

w that said thanks for reading. hope your weekend is good one.
