Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Howday! It's Friday. Friday, July 2nd, 2021. Happy July 4th weekend. Hope your week has gone well.

There was no post last week. I did put 5 songs on the blog's Spotify playlist (just search "Jake Rambles"). I had every intention to post last week, but I woke up slightly late last Friday. Then life happened. Friday becomes Saturday, Saturday becomes Sunday. Then it's Monday. I'm going through the days of the week similar to a song in this week's Playlist does. So then I was like "I'll just wait till this Friday". New 5 songs though. No recycling on this blog unless it's a flashback Playlist. If for some reason I miss a Playlist Friday... there's a 97.8% chance the songs will be on there. I try my best to make an actual post on the blog though.

The song I was referring to above that goes over the days of the week is Unknown Mortal Orchestra and their latest single "Weekend Run". Honestly the first time I listened to the track I was semi-worried about the song's direction in the first couple mins. I was like "this is Unknown Mortal bleeping Orchestra. please let the rest of the song be a little better". Then the chorus grew on me and after a few more listens I like it more. It's a decent track. Compared to some of their stuff... it's okay. They have a high standard. They're probably in my top 10 bands. The song rounds out this week's playlist.

UV-TV kicks off the playlist upbeat w their song "Back to Nowhere". The first time I heard it I was like "yeah this is good. I like this". Just a fun song.

PACKS reminds me a little of a female (sandy) Alex G.

Fake Fruit's "No Mutuals" is a fun track. Lead singer Hannah D'Amato puts the cherry on top for this one. Her vocals go w the track amazing.

Good Morning TV's "Make Me Feel" is oozy, dream type pop. It's off their debut record Small Talk which came out a couple weeks ago.

Have a listen if you so decide. I appreciate you reading. Hope your Holiday weekend is a dandy.
