Playlist Friday

Playlist Friday

Howdy! Playlist Friday returns on the blog. Back from the dead. I've been thinking of things to do with the blog. The rest of the year (all one month and a few weeks left of it) will see more activity. Also - any day that a new future post is posted... it'll automatically appear on the blog at 6am central time (7a eastern/4a pacific). Basically the next month and a half is just a test run of this new posting format.

Just trying to find a balance of some sorts.

Anyways. Playlist Friday. Five songs I've been listening to during said week and posting about them on Friday. Songs that have made my work week or spare time go a little smoother. What are you listening to? Feel free to comment or IG me @ flimsypizza. It's Friday, November 9th, 2018. . . lessgo!

(Depending on when you come across this post - a YouTube link may not be working)

Spirit of the Beehive - fell asleep with a vision

I've talked about this Philly band a few times already on the blog. "fell asleep with a vision" is off the group's latest release Hypnic Jerks. It's a tidy track (less than 2 mins), but it packs a catchy punch.

BONES - Suppressor

His family and close friends know him as Elmo Kennedy O'Connor, but hip hop fans know him as BONES. "Suppressor" is off his 2017 album Failure. I've been listening to a lot of his discography this week. The guy has a lot of talent. I'm late to his party, but glad I discovered his music this week.

Deerhunter - Death in Midsummer

Another band I've talked about a lot on the blog. One of my favorite bands. The group recently announced it's official release date of it's next album: Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared. It'll drop January 18, 2019. The first single off the new album is "Death in Midsummer".

It's definitely not an uplifting track. And neither will the entirety of the new album. I have not heard any other tracks. I'm just going by what lead singer Bradford Cox said in a Instagram live video a week or so ago. A Instagram live video that I screenshotted (like the dork that I am):

Mr. Twin Sister - Alien FM

It had been over four years since the last studio album from Mr. Twin Sister. They're back with Salt. It's a versatile album. I still need to dig more into it. "Alien FM" delivers late night, rainy sultry vibes.

Kero Kero Bonito - Make Believe

"Make Believe" is off Kero Kero Bonito's sophomore effort - Time 'n' Place. It feels like a cotton candy-infused pop track dream. Drifting into the abyss of sweet softness.
