I went through the four seasons the past couple weeks. Most of it the last couple of weekends. Great show. One of the better ones I've seen in awhile. The character development throughout the show is fantastic.
I'm not going to break down the entire show in this post, but instead how I felt after watching the last few episodes. I was sad I had no more episodes to binge (since it's a great show), but it's the first show or movie in awhile that's had an emotional impact on me a little bit afterwards.
I found it easy to put myself in a lot of the characters' shoes (in terms of forming friendships, relationships and all the ups and downs they bring). I think it's easy for most people who enjoy the show to do the same. The character development also helped.
I was sad Joe and Cameron didn't work out. I was a little surprised Cameron cut it loose at the end. The show really made you feel for Joe the last season and a half or so. He was still stubborn, but you could tell he had settled down a little bit. He had wanted kids and she wasn't ready for it. Combine that with everything going on with Gordon's death. . . it was a hard time for everyone. So Joe lost his best friend and the one woman he truly loved at the end.
The final scenes of him walking into his new job as being a teacher and him having the photos of Gordon, Haley and Cameron on his desk...
Just reinforces the sad reality that a couple may be a nice fit, but the timing may just not be right for one of the parties. There can be so many other variables as well on why relationships don't work out. It's a tough part of life. Might be one of the toughest. I've spent a lot of time being depressed over past loves and friendships.
I'm definitely in a better place than where I was a couple years ago, but I would be lying if I said I didn't have moments here or there where I get nostalgic about something. It might be about hanging with a friend I haven't seen in awhile, memories with family members or a memory with an ex-girlfriend. Good memories. Good times. Good people.
So yes. Halt and Catch Fire. Damn good show. If you've seen it and enjoyed it/disliked it - feel free to discuss it with me via my IG @flimsypizza. I'm definitely down. The comment box is currently not working. It honestly might not be working for awhile because I'm kind of over trying to edit things on Ghost and this theme at the moment. In due time.
